I was thrilled to be asked to review Dan Wellman’s latest tome. I’ve been following Dan on Twitter for quite some time now, and have learned much about jQuery from his tweets. Packt Publishing’s range of technical books have been a boon for web developers for a number of years now.

This blog post isn’t for everybody. If you only have a requirement for one website, you can probably gloss over this article. If you are a serial entrepreneur running a number of businesses, or you have one business with multiple discrete components, or an organisation with multiple geographical locations, you may want mutiple websites. Traditionally, achieving this was expensive and  complex, but not anymore.

Free Websites

There’s no such thing as a free lunch… or is there? In this post, I’ll be looking at free and cheap methods of getting a website, and seeing if they are any good. I  won’t cover every single possibility, but will hopefully give you a feel for what is out there.

Before I start, I make websites for a living, so you may suspect me of bias. I’ve genuinely tried to look at these solutions from the perspective of how well they will serve the customer.
